The first TEDx Bangor was on 9th October

TEDx Bangor 2026

TEDx Bangor brought a full day of ideas, inspiration and connection to Bangor, welcoming a diverse audience for a memorable first event that celebrated the power of stories to challenge perspectives, spark conversations and inspire change.

TEDx Talks

At the heart of TEDx Bangor was a carefully curated programme of thought-provoking talks, with speakers sharing powerful ideas, personal experiences and fresh perspectives in the spirit of TEDx. Across four sessions throughout the day, each talk offered something unique — from stories that moved and inspired to ideas that challenged conventional thinking and encouraged audiences to see the world a little differently.

Talks ranging in length up to 12 minutes, the programme celebrated the diversity of human experience and the power of a single idea to make a lasting impression.

Conversation Breaks

The conversations continued long after each speaker left the stage. Breaks between sessions gave attendees the opportunity to reflect on what they had heard, exchange perspectives and connect with others who shared their curiosity and enthusiasm for new ideas.

These moments of conversation and connection were an important part of the TEDx Bangor experience, bringing people together from across Bangor, Ards and North Down and beyond.

Refreshments & Lunch

SERC Student Hospitality played an important part in making the day welcoming and enjoyable.

Guests arrived to tea, coffee and scones, providing the perfect opportunity to settle in, meet fellow attendees and begin the day's conversations.

Lunch brought everyone together again, creating valuable time for networking, sharing reflections and building connections between sessions.

Afternoon refreshments and water throughout the day ensured guests could relax, recharge and continue enjoying the programme.

Speakers & Stories That Made an Impact

TEDx Bangor brought together a multidisciplinary programme of speakers, each with a distinctive story, perspective or idea to share. Their talks reflected the richness of human experience and the potential for ideas to challenge assumptions, open minds and inspire meaningful change.

As the first TEDx event of its kind in Bangor, the day celebrated the people, stories and potential of our local community while connecting it to a wider world of ideas.

From the anticipation of the opening session to the conversations and reflections that continued throughout the day, TEDx Bangor was about more than simply taking to the stage. It was about creating a space where curiosity was encouraged, different perspectives were welcomed and stories had the power to bring people together.

A day of ideas. A community of voices. A lasting invitation to think differently.

That was the spirit of TEDx Bangor — and the beginning of a story we hope will continue to grow.

What better way to round off TEDx Bangor than with a short set from Bangor’s own Dave Elliott?

After a full day of ideas, stories and inspiration, Dave brought a little laughter to the stage and send us off with a smile!
